Standard Solophone was in business as early as 1924, when it was making the “well known solophone.” In 1924 it acquired the Alongshore Toy Manufactory of Mystic, Conn., which made parlor basketball games. In 1928 it advertised several activity sets, including the Little Artist, The Little Dressmaker, Art Needlework Outfits, Dolls’ Luncheonette Set, and the 55 or Bust basketball game. By February 1933, the company had changed its name to Standard Toykraft Products Inc.
In 1936 it merged with Ullman Mfg Co. and moved to Ullman’s building in Brooklyn. The combined company kept the Standard Toykraft name. Standard Toykraft continued to make games into the 1960s. Winky Dinks was one of its baby boom era successes.
Not sure when Standard Toykraft ceased production, but it is not listed in the 1980 Toy Fair directory.
