Gerald (G.W.) D’Arcey is the inventor of BLOCKHEAD, a block-balancing game he self-published in 1952 under G.W. D’Arcey company, San Jose, CA, and which has been around for over 50 years. Jerry D’Arcey also invented Coup-d’etat (1966), Cross Up Poker (1968), and Plug-A-Jug (1969). Coup-d’etat was the foundation for Dragonmaster, as reworked by Michael Gray at Milton Bradley Co. in 1981. According to him, “It is strongly based on European card games. I developed Coup into DragonMaster as a labor of love. I still think it is a wonderful card game for gamers, but very rulesy. That’s why I broke it into 3 versions of increasing complexity.”

D’Arcey’s son David  invented Trust Me in 1981, and both sons, Rich & David, invented SUDZ (originally called “Soap”) in 1986.
